Moldova. Shake the regime

The Dignity and Truth Platform leader, Andrei Năstase, is the target of an extremely dirty campaign, unleashed by the media holding of the oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, because namely Năstase can be a president that will shake the regime. This is the opinion of the renowned political analyst of the Jamestown Foundation, Vladimir Socor.
At the talk show “Cabinetul din Umbră”, from the Jurnal TV, Socor referred to the declaration made these days by the former premier Ion Sturza, who addressed a dull message to the Party Action and Solidarity (PAS) President, Maia Sandu.
“Mister Sturza tells that he was knowing beforehand that Maia Sandu had wanted to candidate alone. “You are important, you matter, if you form alliance with Andrei Năstase”, he said. Truly, the PAS has no strong team yet, in contradistinction to the DA Platform. In this perspective, I agree with the suggestion of the political analyst from Bucharest, Armand Goşu – that Andrei Năstase has qualities necessary for a head of state, and Maia Sandu – the qualities necessary for a prime minister.
I think that Andrei Năstase can be namely that anti-system president, that will shake the regime to its foundations, that will exercise moral authority. This is why namely Năstase is the target of the propaganda of Plahotniuc’s television channels”, said the political observer.
“The campaign that will follow will be extremely dirty, directed from the mass-media controlled by Plahotniuc. It has already launched calumnies and defamation, they have nothing but dirt. A campaign has never been so dirty than this, unleashed by Plahotniuc”, added Vladimir Socor.
Asked if it is possible the scenario Andrei Năstase and Maia Sandu to run on their own account for elections and one of them to get in the second round, the analyst of the Jamestown excluded such a possibility.
“This scenario seems to me impossible, because they would share between them the votes of the electors with anti-oligarchic and pro-European visions. It is possible they to run on their own account, but it is a scenario of suicide”, pointed Vladimir Socor.
