As a former staff member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the National Security Council, Betts served as a consultant to the National Intelligence Council and Departments of State and Defense, and on the Advisory Board for Directors of the Central Intelligence Agency. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Betts has published numerous award-winning books and articles, with writings ranging from in-depth explorations of foreign policy, military strategy, and intelligence, to extensive studies of nuclear weapons and arms trade.
